Who is Wilders? (VRT/ZDF)

In 2017 it seemed as if Geert Wilders and his PVV would become the largest party in the Netherlands. For a moment our small country became the focus of the international press. Who is this Wilders? What moves him, and why is he so fiercely against Islam?
