South Africa: The Umbillical

On the Keizersgracht 141 in Amsterdam stands the "the Double Eagle", also known as the South Africa House. A knowledge and culture center about South Africa and Afrikaans.

The stately building was thoroughly renovated in 2016 and I traveled with director Louise Tuin to South Africa to make a film about the ties between the Netherlands and South Africa. A bilingual production: De Navelstreng & Die Naelstring with Adriaan van Dis and Arnon Grunberg.
